Terms of Service

1Who can use VerseNinja

• You must be at least 13 years old to create your own account.
• Children under 13 may use the App only through Classroom Mode, and only after a parent or legal guardian has provided verifiable consent. See the Privacy Policy, Children's data.
• If you are using the App on behalf of a school, church, or organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.

2Your account

• Sign-in is required to use the App. You may sign in with Apple or Google.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in method secure.
• You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. See Privacy Policy → Your rights for what deletion covers.

3The Bible text

• Every Bible translation in the App is public domain. We claim no copyright in the scriptural text, and no translation we offer carries an attribution or share-alike condition.
• Additional public-domain translations are downloaded directly to your device from fetch(bible) (fetch.bible); we do not host or redistribute them.
• "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org, used only to identify the translation as its publisher names it.

4Your content

• Custom verses, groups, and any text you type or paste remain your content, and you retain all rights you hold in it.
• You grant us a limited license to store, back up, and sync that content across your own devices solely to operate the App for you. We do not sell it, publish it, or use it to train models.
• You are responsible for having the rights to any text you add. Do not paste copyrighted translations you are not licensed to reproduce.
• If you share a group via a link, code, or file, treat it as public — we cannot control where it is forwarded.

5Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App to violate any law or the rights of others.
• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or harmful.
• Choose a username that impersonates someone else, or that is unlawful, obscene, or harassing.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our services.
• Misuse Classroom Mode to collect data about children beyond the consented scope the App provides.

We may reset a username, or suspend or terminate an account, that violates these Terms.

6Subscriptions and payments

VerseNinja Plus is an optional paid upgrade. Core memorization, practice, and cloud sync are free, and joining a Classroom Mode class is always free — Plus is required only to create and run a class.

• Plans: an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase that does not renew.
• Billing and renewal. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their billing terms; we never receive your payment details. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, and your account is charged within 24 hours of renewal.
• Managing or cancelling. Cancel or change your plan in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies.
• Price changes apply only to future billing periods.

7Disclaimers and limitation of liability

• The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
• Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; there, they apply only to the extent permitted.

8Apple App Store and Google Play

These Terms are between you and us alone — not with Apple or Google. We, not Apple or Google, are solely responsible for the App and its content.

• License. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the App on any device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store or Google Play usage rules.
• Support and maintenance. We are solely responsible for support; Apple and Google have no obligation to provide it. Reach us at support@verseninja.app.
• Warranty. We are solely responsible for any warranty, to the extent one is not effectively disclaimed above. If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Claims. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability, failure to meet a legal requirement, consumer protection claims, and claims that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property.
• Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not listed on any US Government prohibited or restricted party list.
• Third-party beneficiary. Apple, Google, and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

9Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the App will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction whose law grants you the protection of your local courts and mandatory consumer rules, nothing here removes that protection.

10Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will update the Last updated date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
